Faculties of the College and Course of Studies :
1 Faculty : The College has three Faculties viz., the
I. Physical Sciences(Faculty A)
II. Life Sciences(Faculty B)
III. Physical Edn. Health Edn. and Sports (Faculty C)
The disciplines covered under the Physical Sciences : Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Geology, Mathematics, Physics , Statistics & Defence Studies
The disciplines covered under the Life Sciences : Anthroplogy, Botany ,Environmental Science and Zoology.
2 Graduation Courses :
The duration of Grduation Courses to be covered in 6 Semesters under the new scheme of Manipur University is 3 year. Each candidate has to offer 3 Electives / Subjects and a General English paper in the 1st & 2nd Semester. Over and above these three electives, there will be a paper on the “Regional Development in the Northeast” for 3rd Semester and “Environmental Sc.” in the 4th Semester”. A Candidate must opt honours in one of the subjects/ electives in the Third year / the 5th and 6th Semesters and their will be no subsidiaries.
3 Total Intake :
(a) 1st Semester – 750 Seats in the A and B faculties (course -wise seats given seperately)
(b) B.Sc. in Physical Education,
Health Edn. &Sports
(1st Semester) – 60 Seats
Grand Total of Seats – 810
Admission in all faculties is made on the basis of rules framed by the Admission committee of the college, as per the University ordinance. For the Admission the College recognises only the Public Examinations of Councils/Boards and Universities.1 Minimum Qualification :
Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. 1st year courses under the faculties of Physical Sciences and Life Sciences should have passed the Class-XII (Science) or its equivalent examinations securing at least the following percentage of marks :
a) 55% of marks in aggregate of five subjects for general candidates.
b) 50% of marks for reserved admissible candidates.
2 Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. 1st Semester in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports, should have passed the
Class-XII or equivalent examinations form any recognised institutions in Science/Arts/Commerce Streams.
(Preference will be given to International/National Players.)
3 How to apply for admission
a) The duly filled in prescribed Application Form, (enclosed in the prospectus) along with the relevant documents/enclosures, should be submitted to the College (Admission Counter) on or beofre the last date of submission.
b) Incomplete application form shall be rejected.
c) Under no circumstances forms shall be received after the last date.
4 Documents/enclosures required with the application Form at the time of submission.
a) One self attested mark sheet of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent.
b) One recent passport size photograph and one stamp size photograph (to be pasted to the Admit Card of Admission Test).
c) One self attested copy of Provisional Certificate of Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent
d) One self attested copy of Admit Card of the Higher Secondary Exam. or its equivalent
e) One self attested copy of the Caste/Tribe Certificate issued by the concerned authority for a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe
f) One self attested copy of Court Affidavit for the Physically challenged candidate
g) One attested copy each of the Sports Certificate(s) for candidates (seeking admission to Physical Sc.(Faculty A) & Life Science(Faculty B) playing in the National / International level.
h) One attested copy for each sports certificate, if any, of National / International standard for the candidate who seeks admission in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports.
N.B. Original copy of the documents/ enclosures should be produced at the time of counselling
4. Selection Procedure :
a) There will be a written test of 150 marks in each streame of A and B.
b) The question will be objective multiple choice of 2 marks each and there will be a negative marking of 1/2 mark for each wrong answer.
c) The syllabi of the test for the subjects will be based on Council of Hr. Sec.,Manipur.
d) Candidates are to appear in (i) Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics for Stream A (ii) Physics, Chemistry & Biology for stream B.
e) The inclusion of subjects such as Statistics, Computer Sc., Anthropology, Geology for the entrance test, should be indicated clearly at the time of submission of forms. These subjects can combine in stream A & B as follows:
Stream A :
i) Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sc.,
ii) Physics, Mathematics, Statistics and
iii) Physics, Mathematics, Gelogy.
Stream B :
i) Chemistry, Biology , Anthropology,
f) Selection of candidates for different courses of studies will be made purely on the basis of merit list cum verification of documents, counselling and seat allocation.
g) Selection of candidates and allocation of seats in the 2nd and subsequent rounds, if there is any resultant vacancy, will also be done through couselling based on the seperate merit list of stream A and stream B consisting of those who were absent in the first counselling but applied for a second counselling and those who were not covered in the 1st counselling.
h) The candidates who were selected but not admitted in date & time fixed will not be considred.
i) The subject combination that was once choosen by a cadidate will not be allowed to change afterwards.
j) A seperate norm of selection shall be adopted for admission to the courses of Physical Edn., Health Edn. & Sports
